Move Over to Prevent a Fatality

All 50 states have what is known as the "Move Over Laws" these laws state that drivers need to switch into a farther lane or if that is not possible to do safely, to slow down. It is recommended that drivers slow down by at least 15 mph to reduce the risk of causing a highway fatality.

According to the National Traffic Incident Management Coalition, more than 200 highway workers are killed every year, and this can simply be prevented by following the Move Over Laws. It is the law and not just a suggestion. According to a national poll by Mason Dixon Polling & Research, 71 percent of drivers don't know about the Move Over Laws.

We want to remind you from us here at Nissan of Meridian to always pay attention when driving on the highway and if anyone is stopped to be sure to switch lanes or slow down.
