Preparing Your Car for a Road Trip

The holidays are a great time for visiting with the people who mean the most to you. This means that your vehicle should be in the best condition possible before getting on the road. Here are some of the ways that you can ensure a safe road trip this holiday season.

Make sure that your battery is working at its best before you hit the road. Your battery should be mounted so that it doesn't move too far to the right, left, forward or backward while you're driving, since this could affect your car's ability to maintain an electrical charge. Your mechanic should also clean any corrosion from the battery during your car inspection.

Be sure to have your tires inspected as well. If the tires on the front of the car are too weak, your mechanic may need to rotate them to the rear of the vehicle. If your tires are worn or have tears, ask your mechanic about the best tires to use as replacements. Happy holidays from Nissan of Meridian!
